Centre Court at Wimbledon filled with spectators on a sunny summer afternoon

Wimbledon 2026: how to watch every match on the BBC

Two weeks of grass-court tennis, all free on the BBC. No subscription, no paywall — just switch on the TV or open iPlayer. Here’s how it all works.

When does Wimbledon 2026 start?

Wimbledon 2026 begins on Monday 29th June and runs through to the men’s singles final on Sunday 13th July. Matches are played across all 18 courts at the All England Club from around 11am each day.

Which channels is it on?

BBC One
Centre Court and Court No.1
BBC One carries the headline matches from the show courts, particularly in the afternoons. This is where you’ll find the top seeds and biggest fixtures, especially in the second week.
BBC Two
Additional courts and morning sessions
BBC Two picks up the morning session and covers matches from the outer courts, meaning you can follow a match that BBC One has moved away from. Essential in the early rounds.
BBC iPlayer
Up to 18 simultaneous live streams
iPlayer streams every match court simultaneously — so you’re never stuck watching the wrong game. Available on phones, tablets, smart TVs, and laptops, free with a TV licence.

What time does coverage start?

Play begins at 11:00am each day. BBC television coverage typically starts shortly before that, with Centre Court matches beginning at 1:00pm on most days. iPlayer streams begin from the first match on each court.

Evening play is possible in the second week, with matches potentially continuing until 9pm or later.

How does the order of play work?

The order of play — which players are on which court, in which order — is announced the evening before each day’s play, typically around 6pm. There are no set match times beyond the first match on each court.

That means you won’t know exactly when your favourite player is on until the night before. The Watchsport app updates daily with the confirmed schedule as soon as it’s released.
